On the evening of September 13, Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee; Lieutenant General Luong Van Kiem - Commander of Military Region 3 visited, encouraged, and shared condolences with the family of Major Tran Van Tung (born in 1987, Battalion Commander of Battalion 3, Infantry Regiment 568, Hung Yen Provincial Military Command).
At the family of Major Tran Van Tung, the working delegation visited and expressed deep condolences for the great pain and loss to relatives and family of Major Tran Van Tung.
Sharing with the family, Bao Hung International Joint Stock Company - where Ms. Dam Thi Loan (wife of Major Tran Van Tung) works - also arranged officials and employees to coordinate with organizations to be on duty and support the family in organizing the funeral. In addition, Bao Hung International Joint Stock Company temporarily stopped organizing the Bao Hung Mid-Autumn Festival 2026 program to share the loss with the family.
As Lao Dong newspaper reported earlier, at about 9:40 am on September 12, Major Tran Van Tung was driving a motorbike on his way back to his unit after performing his duties. When he reached the middle of Bo bridge (in Tra Ly ward, Hung Yen province), he discovered a person intending to commit suicide.
Not abandoning the victim, Major Tran Van Tung turned the car around, got out to intervene and encourage. After that, when he returned to get his motorbike, this person suddenly jumped into the Tra Ly River.
Discovering the incident, Major Tran Van Tung immediately took off his uniform and personal belongings and jumped into the river to rescue people.
When approaching the victim struggling under the water, due to the strong current, both were swept away.
By the evening of September 13, the bodies of Major Tran Van Tung and the person who jumped off the bridge were found.
