On July 28, implementing the Campaign "500 days and nights to promote the search, gathering and identification of martyrs' remains", the Steering Committee for searching, gathering and identifying martyrs' remains of Quang Tri province organized the implementation of taking samples, digitizing information and handing over samples of martyrs' remains at Gio Linh Martyrs' Cemetery.
According to the plan, this deployment will take biological samples for 1,604 martyrs' graves that lack information and are buried at Gio Linh Martyrs' Cemetery.
The goal is to excavate, take samples and temporarily store 100 or more graves every day. At the same time, functional forces will complete 100% of dossiers, digitize data, and preserve and hand over samples according to specialized technical procedures.
The sampling process is carried out strictly, ensuring scientificity and solemnity for the graves. Task forces closely coordinate from the stage of locating, excavating, taking samples, sealing, updating data to handing over. The Provincial Steering Committee requests forces participating in the task to be careful and meticulous, absolutely not to cause confusion or cross-infection between samples, ensuring that DNA testing results reach the highest accuracy.
Sampling activities began on July 28 and will take place continuously until the entire target is completed.
This is one of the key tasks of the "500 Days and Nights" Campaign, which is not only scientifically meaningful but also deeply humane, expressing the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", meeting the earnest aspirations of relatives of martyrs across the country.
