On February 1 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Ha Sy Dong inspected the agricultural production situation of the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop in Trieu Phong and Hai Lang districts.
According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, by February 1, the whole province had completed the cultivation of the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring rice crop with an estimated area of over 25,500 hectares (over 100% of the plan), 2,000 hectares of corn, 1,000 hectares of peanuts, 4,500 hectares of cassava and more than 2,000 hectares of vegetables of all kinds...
Through inspection of actual production, it is shown that localities have directed and guided farmers to ensure planting season and seed structure according to the instructions of the agricultural sector, promptly overcome and replant rice areas damaged by cold rain and flooding at the beginning of the season, and there are no areas of rice fields left unplanted.
The weather before and during the Lunar New Year was basically favorable for the growth and development of crops. After Tet, farmers are taking care of, pruning, fertilizing rice plants and speeding up the planting of upland crops according to the seasonal schedule. Currently, rice and flower fields are growing and developing well, without natural disasters or epidemics.
During the inspection, Mr. Ha Sy Dong requested the agricultural sector to coordinate with localities to direct specialized units and increase staff to support, guide and encourage farmers to speed up the planting of upland crop areas according to the seasonal schedule, and to promptly care for and prevent pests and diseases that harm rice plants.
On the occasion of the New Year, the acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province visited, wished a happy new year, and gave lucky money to encourage farmers to achieve many successes in the new year, in order to contribute to the socio-economic development of the province.
