Information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police said that, implementing the Inter-sectoral Coordination Plan to ensure inland waterway traffic order and safety in 2026, on June 3rd and 4th, Waterway Police Team No. 1 - Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police coordinated with the People's Committee, Police of Trung Gia, O Dien communes and related units to organize coercion and barricade 6 illegal construction material wharves along rivers in the area.
According to the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, previously, through patrols, inspections, and grasping the situation, functional forces discovered many construction material gathering yards operating without permission from competent authorities.
In March and April 2026, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department conducted inspections, made records and administratively sanctioned station owners according to the provisions of law, and at the same time requested to terminate operations and remedy violations.
However, through monitoring, the violating wharves have not fully implemented the requirements of functional agencies, posing a potential risk of re-operating illegally. Faced with the above situation, Riverine Police Team No. 1 has coordinated with local authorities to implement coercive measures and handle to terminate the operation of violating wharves.

In the area along the Cong and Cau rivers in Trung Gia commune, functional forces are carrying out coercion against 3 wharves including Ha Tu, Hung An and An Lac. In the right bank of the Red River in O Dien commune, the wharves of Station I, Thanh Hung and Station II are also being handled according to regulations," Hanoi Traffic Police Department informed.
Previously, on May 28 and 29, 2026, Riverine Police Team No. 1 coordinated with Lien Minh Commune People's Committee to organize barricades and stop the supply of electricity and water to two illegal construction material wharves at Km212+400 and Km213+950 on the right bank of the Red River.


According to the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, the handling of unlicensed wharves and yards aims to strengthen the effectiveness of state management of inland waterway port operations, ensuring order and safety of waterway traffic.
In the coming time, Riverine Police Team No. 1 will continue to review, inspect, and strictly handle violations; coordinate with local authorities to prevent recurrence, contributing to strictly managing the exploitation, transportation, and gathering of construction materials on river routes in the Capital.
