With the expectation of developing suburban eco-tourism, in recent years, Thai Nguyen has focused on investing in transport infrastructure, paving the way for tourism services and connecting more conveniently to lake areas.
Many traffic routes to the water surface are gradually being completed, creating a foundation for ecological service models, resorts and experiences associated with natural landscapes.
Suoi Lanh Lake, Pho Yen City (old) is one of the places with potential for developing eco-tourism based on water surface, landscape and location adjacent to the capital.

Of which, the road from the regional link road to the lake area has just been invested with a total capital of nearly 100 billion VND.
The project has a total length of more than 4.5km, divided into two sections: partly renovated, partly completely newly opened.
The roadbed is widened to 14m, the road surface is 6 - 8m wide, paved with asphalt concrete and cement concrete.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter at the end of July 2025, after more than 1 year of construction, the project connecting to Suoi Lanh Lake area has been completed, creating favorable conditions for connecting infrastructure in the lake area.
The entire route is paved with asphalt, ensuring safe traffic for people and vehicles.

Previously, speaking with reporters, Mr. Dang Van Ty - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Cong commune (formerly under Pho Yen city) said that the road connecting to Suoi Lanh lake was completed in the second quarter of 2025.
According to the local leader, the completion of the road is an important premise for the locality to develop eco-tourism along the lake, creating more livelihoods for the people.
This is an area that was planned by Pho Yen City (old) to serve tourism activities in Thai Nguyen province in 2025.
Along with Suoi Lanh Lake, Nam Cat Lake area, Bac Kan City (old) is also being oriented to become an eco-tourism destination in the coming period.
To realize this, one of the key projects is the road connecting to the lake with a total investment of 226 billion VND, which has been implemented since 2023, expected to be completed in 2025.

The route is about 6km long, divided into three sections, of which the first section is 1.4km long, built according to urban road standards, with a 10.5m wide road surface and sidewalks on both sides.
The 1.5km section and the remaining 3.1km section both apply the scale of a level IV road, with a road surface width of 7m to 7.5m depending on location.
According to records, at the first sections of the route and the area around the lake, the construction unit is focusing on leveling the ground, handling weak soil, spreading stones and compacting.

Workers and machinery are mobilized to complete the drainage ditch system, embankments and accompanying auxiliary works.
As of the second quarter of 2025, construction package 15 has completed about 39% of the contract volume.
The Cao Lan Bridge under this package has completed most of the foundation and piers of the bridge. The rest stop has reached about 95% of the volume.
The section from Km3+00 to Km6+520 has been opened, and roadbed items are currently being implemented and cross- drainage is installed.
The completed route will create a foundation for local socio-economic development, in which exploiting tourism potential is oriented as a key field.
Not only serving traffic, these projects also open up opportunities to turn Nam Cat Lake and Suoi Lanh Lake into destinations in the ecotourism chain of the Northern mountainous region.
