On November 23, speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of Dong Hoa Town Police (Phu Yen) confirmed that two tornadoes had just occurred in the area, causing damage to many houses and a factory.
"The tornado damaged three houses and a garment factory. After learning about the incident, the town police coordinated with local authorities to help repair the damaged houses so that people could stabilize their lives," he said.
According to initial information, early this morning (November 23), a tornado occurred in Hoa Hiep Nam ward, causing the corrugated iron roofs of several companies in Hoa Hiep Industrial Park (Tho Lam quarter) to be torn apart.
Through counting, the tornado damaged the solar panels, 20 square meters of the factory roof was blown off, and a chimney was broken. The property damage has not yet been estimated.
Previously, at around 4:00 p.m. on November 22, a tornado swept through Phuoc Tan village, Hoa Tam commune, causing the roofs of three houses to be blown off.
Two tornadoes caused property damage, but no casualties. Of the three damaged houses, Dong Hoa Town Police will provide financial support to repair the house of one disadvantaged household.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from now until the morning of November 24, Quang Tri to Phu Yen will have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 70-150mm, some places over 250mm. There is a risk of local heavy rain (over 100mm/6 hours).
