On the afternoon of December 15, the Quang Ngai Hydrometeorological Station issued an emergency flood notice on the Ve and Tra Cau rivers. Since December 11, the province has had heavy to very heavy rain. Currently, floods on the Tra Cau and Ve rivers are rising. The water level of the Ve River at 1 p.m. at Song Ve station was 3.4m; 0.1m below alert level 2; on the Tra Cau River it was 5.34m; 0.16m below alert level 3.
It is forecasted that in the next 6 hours, the flood on Tra Cau River at Tra Cau station will fluctuate at a high level, and Ve River at Song Ve station will continue to rise and peak.

On the afternoon of December 15, in Residential Group 1, Pho Minh Ward, Duc Pho Town, 16 houses were flooded, with an average depth of about 40cm. The local government mobilized 15 mobile militia to assist people in evacuating and protecting their property to safety.
According to Vinasarcom province, there is a risk of flash floods, landslides on steep slopes, along rivers and streams, flooding of culverts and spillways in mountainous districts such as Tra Bong, Son Ha, Son Tay, Ba To and Minh Long.
Widespread flooding in low-lying areas and riverside areas in some localities of Nghia Hanh, Tu Nghia, Mo Duc districts and Duc Pho town.

Heavy floods can damage or completely collapse bridges, culverts, and drainage systems, affect aquaculture ponds with low embankments, and seriously pollute people's domestic water sources.
According to Mr. Nham Xuan Sy - Director of Quang Ngai Hydrometeorological Station, the soil moisture model shows that some areas are nearly saturated or have reached a state of near saturation of over 90%. In the next 6 hours, areas in the province will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places will have very heavy rain.
