Today (October 3), the Hung Vuong Cup 2025 volleyball tournament will officially kick off at Phu Tho Stadium.
The list of teams participating in the tournament on the team is taken from the results of the first phase of the National Championship 2025. 4 men's teams and 4 leading female teams will compete in Hung Vuong Cup 2025 including LPB Ninh Binh, VTV Binh Dien Long An, Information Army - Northeast Corporation, VietinBank (female); Police in Ho Chi Minh City, Border Guard, Da Nang and Cong Tan Cang (South).
This year's tournament is considered the "All Stars" season when gathering a series of number 1 stars of Vietnamese volleyball such as Thanh Thuy, Bich Tuyen, Dinh Van Duy, Ngoc Thuan... However, there are still many regrets when some talented faces cannot participate in this year's tournament because they have to return to their home team to compete in the national A-class tournament.
In the men's event, Nguyen Van Quoc Duy could not go to Phu Tho with Ho Chi Minh City Police. Quoc Duy is one of the current talented players of men's volleyball. However, when he was loaned by Ho Chi Minh City Police in the first phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, the 2001-born setter did not have many opportunities to play.
This has led experts to believe that the possibility of the male player being called up to the national team is almost zero. After phase 1, Quoc Duy returned to serve the Tra Vinh men's team in the A-League. Foreign player Rendy Tamamilang (Indonesia) was Quoc Duy's replacement at Ho Chi Minh City Police.
Xu Thanh Thuan is also a star who had to return with VLXD Binh Duong to play in the A league. He is one of the players who left his mark in the first phase when playing for The Cong Tan Cang. This team has named Ha Manh Hung to replace Tu Thanh Thuan in this year's Hung Vuong Cup.
The "dark horse" of phase 1 calls the name of the Da Nang men's team. Although not highly appreciated, this team played impressively and had a position in the top 4 to compete in Phu Tho. However, the Han River team suffered a serious loss of force when having to say goodbye to 3 players, Tu Quoc Viet, Le Ngoc Tri (who played in the A league with XSKT Vinh Long) and foreign player Kittihad.
In women's content, LPB Ninh Binh does not have the service of Anh Thao and Vi Thi Yen Nhi by the duo returning with the Hanoi team. The two contributed greatly to help the ancient capital team lead with a achievement of winning 5 matches.
For the Vietinbank women's team, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet kept the main striker Dang Thi Hong but had to say goodbye to Vi Thi Nhu Quynh because this player focused on the Quang Ninh women's team. Nhu Quynh is a talented young striker of Vietnamese women's volleyball at present. She and Dang Thi Hong shined, helping Vietinbank rank 4th and get tickets to Phu Tho.
Meanwhile, the Information Corps - TCT Dong Bac team sent young player Pham Quynh Huong to Kon Tum to participate in the A-class tournament with the club's youth team. Although considered a "talented star" and participating in the first phase with her seniors, Quynh Huong was not allowed to play.
Therefore, when competing in the A league, she will definitely be a very important player in the squad of coach Nguyen Trong Linh. Being on the field regularly will help Quynh Huong accumulate more experience.
Although lacking famous and talented players, with the presence of top players as well as high-quality foreign players, the Hung Vuong Cup 2025 is expected to create great attraction in the 4 days of competition.
The Hung Vuong Cup 2025 takes place from January 3 to April 6 in Phu Tho. VTV Binh Dien Long An (women) and Border Guard (men) are the defending champions of the tournament.
