On the afternoon of March 26, information from Command Center 114, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police said that at about 11:30 am on the same day, the unit received a report about a tourist showing signs of exhaustion while climbing Co Tien mountain, Bac Nha Trang ward.
This is a mountainous area with steep, dangerous terrain, overlooking the panoramic sea of Nha Trang Bay, attracting many people and tourists to trek in recent times.
Immediately after that, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 9 (under the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police) mobilized forces and specialized vehicles to quickly approach the scene.
The victim was identified as Ms. Kim Bui (born in 1961, Australian nationality). During the climb of Co Tien mountain, Ms. Kim Bui was exhausted due to steep terrain and hot weather.
After a difficult journey, at about 12:05 pm, functional forces approached the victim, coordinated with emergency force 115 to perform initial first aid. The victim was then placed on a specialized stretcher and moved down the mountain safely.
At 12:23 pm on the same day, the tourist was taken down to the foot of the mountain and handed over to the medical force to continue monitoring and care.
Representatives of the rescue force said that thanks to the quick and effective coordination between forces, tourists were rescued in time.
Functional agencies also recommend that people and tourists when participating in mountain climbing and trekking activities need to prepare fully for health, drinking water and necessary equipment to limit risks.
