The reason why the 400 billion VND square project in Dak Nong is slow to reach the finish line

THANH QUỲNH |

Dak Nong - The Gia Nghia City Central Square project has been delayed for a long time and has yet to set a completion date due to many problems.

On November 2, the Gia Nghia City Central Square project (Dak Nong) had not yet completed many investment items.

This project has a total investment of 400 billion VND, including items such as: Exhibition center, bridge over the lower lake, leveling, landscape axis combined with flower garden, water music system, installation of power supply system, lighting, trees, flagpole...

This is a key project of Dak Nong province towards the 20th anniversary of the province's re-establishment (January 1, 2024). The project is located in Nghia Duc ward (Gia Nghia city), with a total area of 18.58 hectares and 210 households affected. The project started construction at the end of 2022 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. However, the project is behind schedule due to 2 major problems that have not yet been resolved.

That is, the project is lacking about 210,000m3 of fill soil and 7.18ha of land has not been cleared.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia - Director of Dak Nong Province Construction Investment Project Management Board (project investor) - said that the unit is urgently removing obstacles.

Regarding the fill soil, the unit is coordinating with the construction contractor to complete the environmental impact assessment procedures and prepare the dossier for mining the soil at Dak Nut B hill. The parties are trying to complete the procedures by the end of 2024 to have fill soil for the project.

Regarding site clearance, the investor has worked with the Gia Nghia City People's Committee to speed up the progress of declaration and inventory of the remaining site clearance. The goal is for the construction unit to complete the project in 2025.
