On November 4, the Office of the People's Committee of Son La province informed that the Provincial People's Council has just issued a supplementary resolution allowing the conversion of land use purposes for rice cultivation, protective forest land, special-use forest land, and production forest land to implement investment projects in 2024 in Muong La, Quynh Nhai districts and Son La city.
The area of converted forest land includes:
Project to build the office of Son La City Police (under Son La Provincial Police) in Chieng Coi ward: Change the purpose of use of 9,513.7m2 of land specializing in rice cultivation (land for growing 2 or more rice crops).
Flood drainage project upstream of Nam Bu Hydropower Dam, Ta Bu Commune, Muong La District: Changing the purpose of use of 3,482m2 of production forest land (land without forest).
Project to add column 6A between columns 6-7 of the 110Kv transmission line connecting the Manufacturing Hydropower Plant cluster to the National Grid in Hua Tra commune: Change the purpose of use of 154.3m2 of special-use forest land (land without forest).
Investment project to build and treat domestic waste in Quynh Nhai district: Change the purpose of use of 16,810.5m2 of special-use forest land (land without forest).
This Resolution was passed by the 15th term People's Council of Son La province, 24th thematic session on October 29, 2024 and takes effect from the date of passage.
