Information from the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB), on the afternoon of January 13, tunnel excavator TBM No. 2 of the Urban Railway Line No. 3 Project (Nhon - Hanoi station section), named "Daring", drilled to station S11 - Van Mieu, marking another important milestone in the underground construction of the project.
At the same time, the casting and installation of tunnel shells were deployed in parallel, ensuring timely supply for two TBM machines to operate continuously. To date, all 3,497/3,497 tunnel shell rings have been cast and completed, fully meeting construction requirements.
Previously, TBM No. 1 named "Speed God" had completed the entire tunnel drilling mission as planned and is being dismantled, preparing for the next steps in the overall project.
For TBM No. 2 "Audacious", the machine has just completed digging the tunnel section from station S10 to station S11 with a length of about 702m, corresponding to 468 tunnel rings. Previously, TBM2 had completed drilling the section from station S9 to station S10 with a length of 1,353m and installed 902 tunnel rings.
Thus, as of January 13, 2026, TBM No. 2 has excavated a total of about 2,055m of tunnel, with 1,370 tunnel shell rings that have been and are being installed.
According to MRB, the overall construction progress of Package CP03 - tunnel and underground stations has now reached over 74.98%. Mr. Nguyen Ba Son - Deputy Head of MRB said that the excavation of TBM No. 2 to station S11 - Van Mieu, along with the completion of the entire tunnel shell casting work, is clear evidence of the close coordination between the investor and contractors in controlling progress, quality and construction safety.
The project always strictly complies with technical standards, especially monitoring to ensure safety for neighboring works and residential areas.
Along with underground tunnel construction, at 4 underground stations on the route, the work of reducing barriers has been completed, contributing to reducing the impact on traffic and daily life of people along the route," Mr. Nguyen Ba Son shared.
