The line applies a standard track gauge of 1,435mm, providing 1,500V one-way power at high contact.
The CBTC train control system operates at level GoA4 automatic (completely automatic). In underground sections, the project uses large TBM tunnel excavators, meeting international standards on safety, quality and construction progress.

"MRB will closely coordinate with ministries, branches, localities and contractors to organize construction to ensure safety, quality, and on schedule; strictly comply with regulations on environmental protection and people's lives.
We strive to implement the project from 2026, basically complete the construction and installation of equipment systems by 2029, and put urban railway line No. 5 into operation and exploitation from 2030", said Mr. Dang Viet Trung - Deputy Head of the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board.
Not only a transport infrastructure project, metro line 5 is considered a connecting axis of development space, knowledge and innovation, opening a new direction for the western area of the capital. Today's groundbreaking ceremony is the beginning of a long journey, demonstrating the aspiration to build Hanoi into a modern, livable, and sustainable city.
