The Tan Ky - Tan Quy road expansion project (section through Binh Tan district, Ho Chi Minh City) is 2 km long, starting from the intersection of Binh Long road to Ma Lo road.
This road section is expanded to 30m, and at the same time, a synchronous drainage, tree and lighting system is built with a total investment of more than 237 billion VND, invested by the HCM City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board).
This is the main route at the Northwest gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, connecting Hoc Mon, Binh Tan, Tan Phu, Tan Binh districts and the city center. This is also the exit from T3 terminal (under construction), Tan Son Nhat airport to the West.
Previously, the project was expected to be completed in October, however, to date, some items of the project have not been completed.
According to Lao Dong reporters, at the construction site of the Tan Ky Tan Quy road expansion project, one side of Tan Ky - Tan Quy road (from Ma Lo road to Binh Long) has become clear after the road surface was paved with asphalt, and the power grid system has also been underground.
However, on the left side (from Binh Long to Ma Lo), the power grid system, telecommunication cables, road and sidewalk reconstruction are still in disarray.
According to the representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Power Distribution Project Management Board: “The reason the left side, in the opposite direction from Binh Long to Ma Lo, is slow is because we have to wait for the Traffic Department to hand over the land. Wherever it is handed over, we will lay underground pipes there so that we do not have to dig up the road again.
After completing the underground pipe laying, we can start pulling cables and connecting the power lines, then we will collect the overhead power poles on the road. It is expected that by November 15, we will complete the relocation of the power grid infrastructure from Binh Long Street to Nuoc Den Canal and from Nuoc Den Canal to Ma Lo to sell and hand over to the Traffic Department to complete the remaining items."
Currently, many road sections of the project are being installed with median strips, lighting systems, sidewalks, trees, etc.
According to the new plan, the Tan Ky Tan Quy road upgrade and expansion project will be completed on November 30, while the Tan Ky Tan Quy bridge construction project will be completed on December 31, 2024.
