Expanding the search for 2 missing people in Mui Nghe, Da Nang

Da Nang - On August 11, functional forces are expanding the search scope for 2 missing people in Mui Nghe, Son Tra peninsula.

The expansion of the search area from the Son Tra peninsula area to the Cu Lao Cham sea area is carried out based on calculating the flow direction. Functional agencies believe that the flow from Mui Nghe area is likely to bring the victim drifting to the Cu Lao Cham sea area.

Previously, at about 7:30 am on August 8, Son Tra Border Guard Station received a report that a group of 6 people came to Mui Nghe to take pictures. At this time, 4 people were swept out to sea by large waves.

At about 8 am on the same day, a fishing boat of fishermen discovered and rescued Mr. Nguyen Th. In the afternoon, functional forces found Ms. Truong Thi Ph after about 8 hours drifting at sea and brought her ashore.

The other two people, Ms. Mai Thi Ph and Tran Thi Anh D, are still missing.

In the past 2 days, nearly 100 people from the Da Nang Border Guard, Naval Region 3 and Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Center, along with many vehicles, have organized searches day and night.

In the Mui Nghe area, functional forces deployed divers to search underwater. Along with specialized forces, functional agencies issued notices to fishing vessels operating at sea, requesting attention to suspicious locations to coordinate searches.

Mui Nghe has a dangerous rocky terrain, close to the sea and especially dangerous when there are big waves. Functional agencies recommend that people and tourists when visiting Son Tra peninsula should follow instructions. People should not arbitrarily enter prohibited areas or coastal points, rocky shores that are at risk of unsafety.
