On April 21, the People's Committee of Nong Truong Viet Trung town (Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province) confirmed that a death had just occurred in the area while going to the forest. The victim was Mr. H.V.M (born in 1980, residing in Khe Ngat village, Nong Truong Viet Trung town).
Initial information said that Mr. M and two others, Mr. H.V.V (born in 1988) and Mr. H.V.T (born in 1969, both residing in Khe Ngat village), went to the forest in Truong Son commune (Quang Ninh district) to see the rock frog. At around 9:00 p.m. on April 20, this group of people stopped to rest, eat rice and fell into a hammock to sleep in the forest.
The next morning, when Mr. V and Mr. T woke up, they called Mr. M to wake him up but could not find a response. When they checked, they discovered that Mr. M had died.
Immediately afterwards, the remaining 2 people returned and reported the incident to the local authorities. The authorities of Nong Truong Viet Trung town quickly coordinated with local police and military forces to the scene to verify the incident.
According to information from relatives, Mr. M has a history of gout and high blood pressure.
Local authorities are continuing to coordinate with competent authorities to complete procedures according to regulations.
