Prolonged traffic congestion occurred in the evening of May 5 at the intersection of Phu Loi street and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street (Phu Loi ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
Prolonged congestion makes it difficult for vehicles to travel through here. According to records, cars have to move little by little to move. Meanwhile, motorbikes and bicycles have to weave through the front and rear of cars to cross the road.
Traffic congestion occurred under heavy rain, making it difficult for motorcyclists to move, and a long line of cars followed each other.
Prolonged congestion continues to occur on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street in the direction from National Highway 13 to Phu Loi street and from Phu Loi street to My Phuoc - Tan Van street.

Talking to reporters, leaders of Phu Loi Ward People's Committee said that they have grasped the traffic situation here. Currently, the Ward People's Committee has sent forces to coordinate with traffic police to divert and regulate traffic in this area.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper had an article reflecting on traffic congestion at this intersection. The cause of congestion was identified as Phu Loi road being still narrow, while the volume of vehicles pouring here is very large.
Besides, about 500m from this intersection is the intersection of My Phuoc - Tan Van street and Phu Loi street. Here, traffic infrastructure also has many inadequacies and frequent congestion.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, currently, Ho Chi Minh City agencies are coordinating with ministries and sectors to carry out the next legal procedures to implement the project to complete the My Phuoc - Tan Van road in BOT form, 64 km long. This project was previously issued a resolution by the Binh Duong Provincial People's Council (previously) to implement at the end of June 2025. According to the design, the My Phuoc - Tan Van intersection with Phu Loi road will be built with an overpass. When the project is implemented, it will solve the traffic congestion situation here.
