Nghe An - Prolonged heavy rain has caused localized flooding on many roads and residential areas, some places are cut off, and the government has organized warnings and responses.

On the morning of September 16, Mr. Hoang Nghia Thai - Chairman of Thai Hoa Ward People's Committee, Nghe An province said that due to heavy rain, from the evening of September 15 to the morning of September 16, some locations in the central area of the ward were flooded, causing difficulties for travel.

According to Mr. Thai, there are 2 households whose houses were flooded. By the morning of September 16, the water in these households had receded.

Faced with complicated weather developments, Thai Hoa Ward People's Committee is holding a meeting to review response plans for rain and floods, especially in low-lying areas, which are at risk of being affected when the water level of the Hieu River continues to rise.

We are worried that rising river water will cause more flooding in some areas. The ward is discussing a plan to raise furniture high, ready to relocate people in low-lying areas if necessary" - Mr. Hoang Nghia Thai said.

According to people's reflections, prolonged heavy rain has caused many road sections in the central area of Thai Hoa ward to be flooded. In some locations, the water has risen, making it difficult for vehicles to travel and potentially dangerous.

Functional forces were present at flooded points, organized warnings, set up checkpoints in unsafe locations, and at the same time advised people to limit moving through deep water areas.

Not only in Thai Hoa ward, heavy rain in recent days has also caused localized flooding in many localities in Nghe An province. In Tam Thai commune, some areas are cut off by floodwaters, affecting the travel and daily life of thousands of households.

Local authorities have deployed forces to inspect areas at risk of deep flooding and landslides; placed warning signs, prohibiting people and vehicles from crossing unsafe roads, and at the same time supported people to overcome the consequences and proactively plan evacuations when the situation worsens.
