According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Muong Khuong district on June 8, as of 1:00 p.m. the same day, the locality was flooded with about 20 hectares of rice, maize, and corn in Pho Cu, Nhan Giong, and Sang Chai fields in Muong Khuong town.
Currently, the water has almost receded, the rice, planted and corn areas are still partially flooded, about 3 hectares.
In addition, 1 person was swept away by floodwaters. The victim was Mr. V. D. H. (born in 1994, residing in Na Khui residential group, Muong Khuong town).
Accordingly, at around 12:00 on June 8, Mr. V. D. H. and his brother went to the stream to pick up the soldiers floating in the stream and unfortunately slipped. The brother was lucky enough to stick to the tree and get to the shore. His health is now stable. Mr. V. D. H. was unfortunately swept away by floodwaters.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Muong Khuong district directed specialized agencies to count the damage situation to quickly overcome the consequences. At the same time, forces were organized to search for missing victims.
