On the afternoon of May 30, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that from the night of May 29 to the early morning of May 30, prolonged heavy rain caused flash floods in many mountainous areas of Nghe An province, causing serious damage to people and property.
In Ky Son district, heavy rain caused water from the stream to rise, sweeping away rocks, soil and trees downstream. Floods have left a 32-year-old man in Na Loi missing. By noon on May 30, the authorities had found the victim's body and supported the family with funeral arrangements.

Floods also caused nearly 20 households in My Ly, Muong tip, Dooc May, and Huoi Tu communes to have their houses flooded, causing collapse and damage to many properties. Rice and crop fields were washed away; many livestock and poultry died.
In Huu Kiem commune, the bridge for the people of Dinh Son 1 village was broken due to floodwaters, causing many villages to be cut off and traffic disruption. Inter-commune roads and roads connecting villages were also seriously damaged by landslides.
In Tuong Duong district, heavy rain damaged many houses in Nhon Mai and Huu Khuong communes. Some properties were swept away by floodwaters, and access to remote villages is currently facing many difficulties due to cutting off roads.

In Que Phong district, on the night of May 29, heavy rain damaged a number of houses in Tri Le commune, and swept away livestock and crops. Previously, on the night of May 28, Hanh Dich commune also recorded many damages due to floodwaters.
Currently, local authorities are mobilizing police forces, military, militia and functional units to urgently approach the scene, count the damage, support people to overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives.
