On September 23, Mr. Bui Van Hien - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Que Phong district, Nghe An province said that continuous heavy rains caused landslides in Que Phong district, causing landslides and rocks to flow down, damaging the houses of some households in Thong Thu and Cam Muon communes.
On the afternoon of September 22, due to the impact of heavy rain, Mrs. Luong Thi Hoa's household in Muong Piet village, Thong Thu commune completely collapsed. In Thong Thu commune, there are 16 households affected by landslides on the positive slope.
The entire Que Phong district currently has 38 locations affected by the risk of landslides. The district People's Committee has issued warnings so that localities and people can proactively take preventive measures, as well as reminding people to take measures to respond to natural disasters.
The whole district has urgently evacuated 26 households and 126 people out of the dangerous landslide area.
On September 23, Mr. Lo Van Thao - Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Cuong district informed that the local government had evacuated 55 households with 220 people in flooded areas at risk of landslides to a safe place.
National Highway 7 passing through the district suffered serious landslides at Doc Cho, with rocks rolling and trees falling from the mountain at Vuc Bong. Traffic works and schools were affected.
Chairman of Tan Ky District People's Committee Phan Van Giap said that the entire district has evacuated people and property of 25 households out of landslide risk areas.
In districts such as Dien Chau, Tuong Duong, Hung Nguyen, Anh Son, heavy rains have also caused flooding in many places. Currently, in Nghe An province, moderate and heavy rains are still occurring.
In particular, on the morning of September 23, many roads in Vinh City were heavily flooded, traffic was congested, many vehicles stalled, and rescue had to be called.
According to the People's Committee of Nghe An province, up to now, the floods in recent days have killed 3 people, injured 1 person, collapsed 9 houses, severely damaged 9 houses, and flooded hundreds of hectares of crops and rice.
