On the afternoon of September 19, Chairman of the People's Committee of Le Ninh Farm Town (Le Thuy District, Quang Binh Province) Pham Minh Dien said that due to prolonged heavy rain, a localized flooding occurred in a location in the area.
The flooding occurred in residential group 3 (Le Ninh Farm town), the water level was about 50-70cm, rising around 3pm the same day, affecting one household. Besides the flooding of the household above, the water also affected the gardens of two other households.
"Receiving the information, local authorities evacuated people to a safe place," said Mr. Dien.
Local authorities coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Road Management Board to handle the incident.
On the same afternoon, Mr. Chu Van Long - Deputy Head of Project Management Division 4, Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board informed that he had coordinated with the authorities to clear the flow.
“We used 2 excavators to clear the flow. At the same time, 100% of our staff were on standby to coordinate with the local authorities in responding to the storm,” said Mr. Long.
It is forecasted that from now (September 19) to the end of September 20, in Quang Binh area, there will be heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain. The total rainfall is as follows: Tuyen Hoa and Minh Hoa districts from 130-220mm, some places over 280mm; Quang Trach district, Ba Don town, Bo Trach, Dong Hoi city from 70-150mm, some places over 180mm; Quang Ninh and Le Thuy districts from 100-180mm, some places over 220mm.
Heavy rains are likely to cause flash floods and landslides in Tuyen Hoa and Minh Hoa districts; mountainous areas of Bo Trach, Quang Trach, Quang Ninh and Le Thuy districts. Flooding in low-lying areas, riverside areas; urban areas.
At sea: Quang Binh province's sea has wind level 6-7, gust level 8-9, rough sea. Waves are 2.0-4.0m high. At night, the wind tends to decrease.
All boats and other activities in the waters of Quang Binh province are at risk of being affected by strong winds and big waves, so care must be taken to avoid them.
