Hydropower reservoirs across the country are currently fluctuating below or approaching the normal water level, mainly operating for power generation.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 1:00 PM on March 22, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake was at 114.94m, lower than the normal water level (120m), currently no discharge flow has occurred.

The Northwest region recorded many large lakes approaching the normal water level.

Lai Chau Lake reached 294.05m (near level 295m), no discharge. Son La Lake is at level 213.98m, water flow to the lake 182 m3/s, total discharge 738 m3/s, all through the plant.

Hoa Binh Lake reached 115.8m, with a flow rate of 355 m3/s, discharging 348 m3/s to serve power generation.

Some other reservoirs such as Huoi Quang (368.75m), Ban Chat (438.21m) are also operating for power generation with discharge through the plant of 264 m3/s and 124 m3/s respectively. Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 54.38m, not yet discharged.

In the North Central region, Trung Son and Khe Bo reservoirs maintain discharge of 78 m3/s and 95.5 m3/s respectively, mainly through generating units. Meanwhile, Ban Ve and Quang Tri reservoirs have not generated discharge.

In the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions, most of the reservoirs have water levels lower than normal water levels and operate power generation sparingly.

Some lakes with notable discharges include Song Bung 4 (52 m³/s), Song Hinh (31.59 m³/s), Buon Kuop (15.26 m³/s) and Da Mi (32.4 m³/s).

In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir recorded a flow to the reservoir of 150 m3/s, with a total discharge of 444 m3/s through the plant.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 22nd, the Northern region has light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered; especially the mountainous and midland areas have rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
