According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 11:30 am on March 21, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir reached 114.83m, lower than the normal water level (120m), water inflow to the reservoir at 99 m3/s, not yet discharged.
In the Northwest region, many large reservoirs operate strongly for power generation.
Son La Lake reached 214.07m (near the normal water level of 215m), inflow to the lake 445 m3/s, total discharge amount up to 1.175 m3/s. Hoa Binh Lake is at 115.66m, discharging 311 m3/s.
Huo Huoi Quang and Ban Chat reservoirs also maintain discharge of 340 m3/s and 242 m3/s respectively.
Some other reservoirs such as Lai Chau (293.83m) have not been discharged, while Thac Ba reached 54.45m, discharging over 303 m3/s.
In the North Central region, Trung Son reservoir discharges balanced with inflow (78 m3/s), while Khe Bo discharges 95.5 m3/s even though the inflow to the reservoir is very low. Ban Ve and Quang Tri reservoirs have not yet discharged.
In the South Central Coast, most reservoirs have water levels lower than normal water levels.
Some reservoirs generate electricity such as Song Ba Ha (discharging 120 m3/s), Song Bung 4 (52 m3/s), A Vuong (12.8 m3/s).
Notably, Song Hinh reservoir recorded negative flow (-16.28 m3/s), reflecting a downward trend in flow.
In the Central Highlands region, many lakes operate stably.
Reservoirs on the Se San system maintain discharge from 160–246 m3/s. Ialy Lake discharges 28 m3/s, while Pleiku is discharged 43 m3/s.
Da Mi reservoir alone discharged a very large amount of 7,694 m3/s.
In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir reached 61.3m, discharging 450 m3/s, serving power generation and downstream regulation.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for March 21st, the Northern region has light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered; especially mountainous and midland areas have rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
The Southern region in the late afternoon and night has showers and thunderstorms in some places, sunny during the day.
