According to updated data from the reservoir operation management system at 11:00 am on August 4, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has an upstream water level of 105.91 m, 14.09 m lower than the normal water level. Water inflow to the reservoir reached 1,732 m3/s, total discharge flow 1,230.43 m3/s, of which discharge through the spillway was 492 m3/s with 1 deep discharge gate operating.
In the Northwest region, Hoa Binh reservoir has an upstream water level of 101.74 m, a water inflow rate of 4,372 m3/s - the highest in the regional reservoir group. The total discharge rate reached 2,850 m3/s, all through the plant, without operating deep discharge gates.
Son La Lake recorded a water level of 197.35 m, inflow to the lake of 3,487 m3/s, total discharge flow of 3,259 m3/s. Lai Chau Lake reached a water level of 289.27 m, inflow to the lake of 2,065 m3/s, total discharge flow of 1,527 m3/s.
In the North Central region, Trung Son reservoir has a water level of 152.04 m, water inflow to the reservoir is 628 m3/s. The total discharge flow reaches 910 m3/s, including 434 m3/s through the spillway and 476 m3/s through the plant, currently 4 surface discharge gates are open.
Ban Ve Lake has a water level of 178.16 m, inflow rate of 383 m3/s, total discharge rate of 331 m3/s. Khe Bo Lake reached a water level of 63.73 m, inflow rate of 335.4 m3/s, total discharge rate of 454.6 m3/s. Quang Tri Lake maintains a water level of 457.34 m and has not yet discharged water.
In the South Central region, most reservoirs have low water flow and do not discharge through spillways. A Vuong Lake has a water level of 353.39 m, with a total discharge flow of 72 m3/s through the plant. Song Tranh 2, Ba Ha and Song Bung 2 reservoirs all do not discharge through spillways.
In the Central Highlands, Ialy Lake has a water level of 498.45 m, a water inflow of 231 m3/s, a total discharge flow of 32 m3/s. Pleikrông Lake reaches a water level of 544.16 m, a total discharge flow of 98 m3/s. Buôn Kuốp Lake operates 1 deep discharge gate, discharging 15.42 m3/s through the spillway and 19 m3/s through the plant.
In the Southeast region, Tri An Lake has a water level of 53.35 m, water inflow to the lake is 730 m3/s, total discharge flow is 373 m3/s through the plant. Thac Mo Lake has a water level of 203.18 m and has not yet discharged water.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on August 4, the Northern region will have showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain. From tomorrow afternoon, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially in the late afternoon and evening, there are scattered showers and thunderstorms; sunny days.
