According to updated data at 12:00 on August 2, in the North Central region, Trung Son Lake has an upstream water level of 151.89 m, lower than the normal water level by more than 8 m. The water flow to the lake reached 577 m3/s, total discharge volume 347 m3/s, all through the plant.
Ban Ve Lake reached a water level of 176.95 m, water inflow of 293 m3/s and has not been discharged. Khe Bo Lake is at 64.23 m, water inflow of 119.3 m3/s, total discharge of 95.5 m3/s through the plant. Quang Tri Lake has a water level of 457.71 m, water inflow of only 8 m3/s, water has not been discharged.
In the South Central Coast, most reservoirs maintain water levels lower than normal water levels and do not discharge through spillways. A Vuong reservoir reached 353.93 m, Song Bung 2 reservoir reached 581.86 m, Song Tranh 2 reservoir reached 150.8 m, Song Ba Ha reservoir reached 102.14 m; these reservoirs have not yet discharged water.
Some reservoirs still generate electricity with small flow rates such as Vinh Son A discharging 4.38 m3/s, Song Bung 4 discharging 49 m3/s and Song Hinh discharging 15.22 m3/s, not discharging through the spillway dam.
In the Central Highlands, large hydropower reservoirs such as Thuong Kon Tum, Pleikurong, Ialy, Se San 3, Se San 4, Kanak, Srepok 3, Buon Tua Srah, Dong Nai 3, Dong Nai 4, Don Duong, Dai Ninh, Ham Thuan and Da Mi all maintain water levels below normal water levels, without having to regulate discharge.
Notably, Se San 3A reservoir is generating electricity with a discharge flow of 194 m3/s. An Khe reservoir discharges 4 m3/s through the spillway and is opening 1 surface discharge gate. Buon Kuop reservoir discharges 15.35 m3/s through the spillway, maintaining 1 deep discharge gate for operation.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on August 2, the Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain; the main rain time is in the early morning, late afternoon and night. Intermittent sunny days with the highest temperature around 30 - 33 degrees C.
The Southern region in the late afternoon will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
