On December 31, at the 30th anniversary of the district's founding, the District Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Bao Lam district unexpectedly awarded two athletes and a coach.
Those awarded include athletes K’Duong (17 years old) and Ka Hoai (16 years old), both residing in Loc Tan commune (Bao Lam district) and Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong, coach of the Lam Dong Province Weightlifting Team.
All three were awarded special recognition for their outstanding performance at the 2024 Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships.
Previously, K'Duong and Ka Hoai participated in the 2024 Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship. The tournament took place from December 19 to 25 in Qatar.
The two athletes competed exceptionally well. Together, they brought home 7 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals for the Vietnamese Weightlifting Team.
In which, athlete K'Duong competed in the 56kg youth weight category (age group from 15-17). K'Duong won 3 Gold Medals in the snatch, clean and jerk and total.
With the above results, K'Duong also won 3 Gold Medals for the above 3 events in the youth age group of 17 years old and under. In total, K'Duong won 6 Gold Medals.
In particular, K'Duong broke 3 Asian records and also broke 3 world records previously set by athletes.
Female athlete Ka Hoai also excelled in bringing home 2 medals for the Vietnamese Weightlifting Team.
Ka Hoai competed in the 45kg junior women's weight class. The female athlete won 1 Gold Medal and 2 Silver Medals.
With the above outstanding achievements, athlete K'Duong was awarded a Certificate of Merit and a special bonus of 15 million VND by the People's Committee of Bao Lam district.
Athlete Ka Hoai was awarded a Certificate of Merit and a special bonus of 10 million VND by the People's Committee of Bao Lam district.
Bao Lam District People's Committee also presented a Certificate of Merit and an extraordinary reward of 5 million VND to Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong. Mr. Thuong is the coach of Lam Dong Province Weightlifting Team, who directly instructed the two athletes above.
Chairman of Bao Lam District People's Committee Truong Hoai Minh said he was very proud of the outstanding achievements of the two athletes and the Lam Dong Provincial Weightlifting Team.
The unexpected reward is to promptly recognize, praise and encourage the two athletes to continue to make efforts, practice hard and achieve high results in the future.
The District People's Committee will have a report proposing to the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to award Certificates of Merit to K'Duong, Ka Hoai and the coach of the Provincial Weightlifting Team.
