Thai Nguyen electricity industry reveals the reason for high electricity bills

Thai Nguyen - Many households are worried about the recent increase in electricity bills, the main reason is believed to be due to demand for use and price calculation by scale.

Recently, many households in Thai Nguyen have reported a sudden increase in electricity bills in August, which has made many families worry about errors in the index recording.

Thai Nguyen Electricity said that the process of recording indicators and issuing invoices is being implemented according to regulations and is ready to coordinate with inspection.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Deputy Head of Business Department (Thai Nguyen Power Company) - said that most electronic meters have transmitted data directly, while the meters that have not been synchronized are recorded remotely and compared in practice.

According to the electricity industry, the schedule records monthly public indexes, people can follow them for comparison.

The invoices are then issued automatically, minimizing human intervention.

The main reason for the August bill's increase is the prolonged heat. Air conditioners, fans, and air conditioners operate continuously for many hours, increasing electricity consumption.

In addition to the weather, the method of calculating electricity prices on a scale also causes costs to increase rapidly, when output exceeds the threshold, the electricity generated is calculated at a higher level, causing a significant difference in the total bill.

In addition, students have many summer vacations at home, so the frequency of electricity use increases, causing electricity consumption to be greater than usual.

Not only that, using old equipment or degraded or leaked power lines will also cause power outages.

Statistics for August 2025, consumer electricity output in Thai Nguyen reached more than 141 million kWh, up 6.36% over the same period. The maximum capacity of the whole province also increased by nearly 10% compared to 2024.

The electricity industry recommends that people use them economically, prioritize high-performance equipment, turn off when not necessary and regularly check the household electrical system.
