In the first 6 months of 2025, the export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached 33.84 billion USD, up 15.5% over the same period in 2024.

On July 12, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment held a conference to review the Party's work in the first 6 months of the year and deploy key tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Party Secretary and Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy emphasized that despite having to undertake a large workload in the context of a streamlined apparatus, the Party Committee of the Ministry still relatively comprehensively completed the political goals and tasks set in the first 6 months of the year.

Accordingly, in the context of many unpredictable fluctuations in the world economy and politics, the industry still maintains a stable growth rate of 3.84%, approaching the growth rate (3.9%) according to the set scenario. Of which, agriculture increased by 3.51%; forestry increased by 7.42%, fisheries increased by 4.21%. Export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached 33.84 billion USD, up 15.5% over the same period in 2024.

The work of building and perfecting institutions has been focused on, especially the issuance of documents guiding the implementation of new laws and resolutions of the National Assembly. Decentralization and delegation of power to localities has been thoroughly implemented, in line with the two-level government model.

Along with that, the Ministry actively advises on removing obstacles in land, investment and mineral management; promoting resource management, environmental protection and climate change response.

However, besides the bright spots, there are still shortcomings that need to be overcome, such as some production and export sectors facing difficulties; the progress of some professional tasks is still slow; the application of shared information systems is still not synchronous.

In the last 6 months of the year, the Ministry aims to perfect institutions and laws, especially the Land Law, the Geology and Mineral Resources Law, laws on agriculture and environment; Support local governments at two levels, especially at the commune level, in performing specialized tasks.

Also at the Conference to review the work in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2025, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment announced Decision No. 139-QD/dyU of the Government Party Committee on appointing 16 comrades to join the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry, term 2020-2025. The decision was signed and issued by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.
