On January 11, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that the locality has just issued an urgent construction order for 2026 for the construction, renovation, repair, and upgrading of the health station system in the western communes of Nghe An.
The decision was made in the context from about July to October 2025, the western mountainous region of Nghe An continuously suffered the impact of rain and floods, landslides, causing heavy damage to the grassroots health system.
Many health stations are deeply flooded, roofs are blown off, walls are cracked, equipment is damaged, and in some places are completely cut off, causing medical examination and treatment to be interrupted, and people face many difficulties in accessing health services.

During peak natural disasters, the local health sector had to deploy mobile medical teams, using canoes and motorboats to access isolated areas, provide emergency care for patients, support pregnant women to give birth, and provide emergency medical care for people.
According to the urgent construction order, the invested items include working houses, medical examination and treatment areas, garages, garbage storage houses; technical infrastructure systems such as yards, roads, gates, fences, water supply, electricity supply, fire prevention and fighting, information technology, waste collection area; and at the same time renovate and repair existing items and supplement interior equipment.
The projects are being implemented in Chau Khe, Tam Quang, Keng Du, Na Ngoi, Na Loi, Thong Thu, Tri Le communes.
The total estimated investment is 70 billion VND. The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to be the investor, organize the preparation of dossiers, and implement procedures according to regulations, ensuring progress and quality of the project; and at the same time review and assess the extent of damage caused by natural disasters to have appropriate remedial plans.
The Provincial People's Committee also requested relevant departments and agencies to coordinate in guiding the implementation of project procedures; localities to urgently hand over land, coordinate implementation, in order to soon put solid health stations into operation, ensuring long-term health care for people in mountainous, remote and isolated areas.
