Recently, information about the survey and planning of the construction of a crematorium in Dien Loi commune has been met with many strong oppositions from local people. Many people gathered in large numbers at the headquarters of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee to express their disagreements and concerns about the impact on the environment and people's lives if the project is implemented.
In that situation, implementing Official Dispatch No. 3526 dated April 8, 2025 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and Official Dispatch No. 152 dated April 11, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued a document agreeing with the proposal of the Department of Finance (formerly the Department of Planning and Investment) and Dien Chau District People's Committee on temporarily suspending research on crematorium construction planning in Dien Loi commune.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee assigned Dien Chau District People's Committee to publicly notify the people of Dien Loi commune to clearly understand the policy, coordinate implementation, and at the same time ensure security and order, stabilize the local situation. Dien Chau district is also required to continue implementing other socio-economic development tasks in Dien Loi commune in accordance with regulations, not allowing the temporary suspension of the project to affect general activities in the area.
Relevant departments, branches and sectors are required, according to their functions and tasks, to promptly guide and support the People's Committee of Dien Chau district in implementing work, and proactively report and advise the Provincial People's Committee to handle arising difficulties and problems.
