According to the report of Tam Chuc Ward People's Committee, at about 8 pm on June 27, a fire suddenly occurred in the Cao San mountain peak area, belonging to Doai residential group, Tam Chuc ward, Ninh Binh province, the fire then gradually spread down the mountainside. The location of the fire is the protection forest area bordering Tam Chuc ward and Ly Thuong Kiet ward.
Immediately after discovering the fire, local authorities coordinated with forces and people to quickly arrive at the scene to control the fire. By 10:30 PM on the same day (June 27), the fire was basically under control.
However, by noon on June 28, the fire suddenly broke out again, functional forces continued to cordon off and extinguish the fire, and at the same time relocated some households at risk of being affected and temporarily banned vehicles from passing through the area on National Highway 21A.
The initial cause of the forest fire was determined to be lightning strikes causing the fire to spread from the top of Cao San mountain down to the mountainside on the evening of June 27.
Preliminary statistics show that the fire damaged about 3,000 - 3,500m2 of forest, mainly vegetation, shrubs and vines.
It is known that about 200 people and many vehicles such as specialized fire trucks, handicrafts and on-site forces have been mobilized to participate in the rescue.
Local authorities are continuing to closely monitor the diễn biến of the fire and strengthen firefighting measures to control fire spread.
