On June 11, the Management Board of Cu Lao Cham Nature Reserve said - the unit has just coordinated with the local Forest Protection Department of Tan Hiep commune, Da Nang city to re-release a rubber python to its natural environment.
Previously, the python was discovered by people in the area near the house of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tan, residing in Bai Huong village, Tan Hiep commune. After discovering it, Mr. Tan's family voluntarily notified and handed over the python to functional agencies.

Immediately after receiving it, functional forces proceeded to check, weigh the weight, monitor the health status and assess the adaptation ability of the python individual before releasing it. After completing the procedures according to regulations, functional forces selected forest areas with suitable habitats to bring the python individual back to nature.
The brocade python has the scientific name Malayopython reticulatus (Python reticulatus), is a endangered, precious, and rare forest animal belonging to group IIB, managed and protected according to legal regulations.
In the forest ecosystem, the king python plays an important role in the natural food chain. This species contributes to controlling the population of rodents and some small animals, thereby maintaining ecological balance.
The safe release of the brocade python individual not only contributes to protecting biodiversity in the Cu Lao Cham Nature Reserve, but also spreads a message of civilized behavior towards wildlife: discover, notify, and hand over so that they have the opportunity to return to nature.
