On the afternoon of January 14, local residents, together with the Thuy Nguyen City Police and the Ngo Quyen District Police, temporarily detained Dong Thi Ha Thu (born in 2007, residing in Hoang Lam Ward, Thuy Nguyen City) who was traveling with N.T.M in Ngo Quyen District. N.T.M met her relatives shortly after, in a healthy and safe condition.
Ms. P.M.T - who participated in holding the subject Dong Thi Ha Thu - said that at around 3:30 p.m. on January 14, Ms. T was riding a motorbike with her relatives along Luong Khanh Thien Street. While on the road, Ms. Thu and her younger sister discovered a woman leading a little girl, similar to the incident of a little girl being taken away from a kindergarten by a stranger that has been causing a stir on social media since the evening of January 13. After confirming that the subject was correct, Ms. T calmly followed the woman leading the child and reported the incident to the police.
After following the subject for a while, Ms. T saw a woman in a red shirt stop her car and run to grab the subject, carrying the little girl with her, so I ran up to hold the subject. According to Ms. T, this person let her hold him and did not resist. Afterwards, the people around gathered around to hold the subject. Seeing that, Ms. T left.
Currently, Thuy Nguyen City Police and Ngo Quyen District Police continue to investigate and handle the case according to regulations.
