    Sending a question to the Social Insurance agency, reader N.H said: "I was born in 1974, used to work at the Commune Women's Union. On July 1, 2025, I retired early according to Decree No. 178/2024/ND-CP.

    Recently, I was diagnosed with a serious illness and wished to switch to receiving a one-time pension for the remaining pension.

    Please ask, can I switch to enjoying a one-time pension for the remaining pension? If so, what documents do I need and how to follow the process?

    Regarding this issue, Vietnam Social Security answers as follows:

    According to the information she provided, she is currently receiving a monthly pension from July 1, 2025, diagnosed with thyroid cancer and has a need to switch to receiving a one-time pension for the remaining pension to cover treatment costs.

    Currently, according to current law on Social Insurance, there are no regulations on transferring pensioners to a one-time pension regime for the remaining pension as in your question.
