On May 6, Hoa Phu Commune People's Committee (Dak Lak province) informed that an incident had just occurred in the area where a man jumped off Serepok bridge but luckily swam ashore himself and was promptly encouraged and supported by people.
The incident occurred in the morning of the same day at Serepok bridge, the border area between Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces.
According to initial information, the man left his wallet, phone and motorbike on the bridge and then suddenly jumped into the Serepok River.
Discovering the incident, many people quickly organized rescue by throwing buoys (pre-equipped on the bridge) into the river, and at the same time rowing boats to approach. At this time, the river water level was quite low, so the man could swim ashore on his own.
However, as soon as he got close to the foot of the bridge, this person intended to continue swimming out into the middle of the river. At this time, a resident rowed a boat to grab his shirt and promptly prevented him.
After that, many people continued to wade down to the bridge foot area to advise. During the conversation, the man said that because he was sad about family matters, he had negative thoughts and did not want to continue living.
After a long time of persuasion, the man was taken to the bridge, received his motorbike back and was taken by people to drink coffee to stabilize his spirit. Here, this person said he was married and had two young children.
Everyone continued to encourage and advise the man to think positively, try to overcome difficulties to live for his family and children.
