On April 17, Truong Ninh Commune Police (Quang Tri province) said that they had just coordinated with local forest rangers and Truong Ninh Commune People's Committee to receive 2 rare wild animal individuals voluntarily handed over by people.
Accordingly, the individuals include 1 cu li individual belonging to group IB and 1 monkey individual belonging to group IIB. These are endangered, precious, and rare forest animal species, which are strictly prohibited from hunting, keeping, transporting, and illegally trading according to the provisions of law.
Immediately after receiving them, functional forces made a record, identified the types, and checked the initial health status of the individuals. At the same time, completed the dossiers and procedures according to regulations and handed them over to specialized agencies for reception, care, and rescue.
After a process of monitoring, care and when conditions are met, the animal individuals will be re-released back to the natural environment, contributing to biodiversity conservation and population development in nature.
The voluntary handover of wild animals by people shows the awareness of law compliance and responsibility in protecting natural resources; and at the same time reflects the effectiveness of coordination between the police, forest rangers and local authorities in propaganda and mobilization.
In the coming time, Truong Ninh Commune Police will continue to coordinate with functional forces to promote propaganda and raise community awareness; proactively prevent, detect and strictly handle violations of the law related to wildlife.
