Ms. Le Thi Hai Dang (54 years old, resident of Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh city) shared: “I support increasing the fines for traffic violations to create a deterrent effect, forcing people to participate in traffic according to the law, be careful, and ensure safety. I have seen people speeding, recklessly overtaking, running red lights, and revving their engines, which is very scary.”
Captain of the Traffic Police Team of Vinh City Police - Lieutenant Colonel Le Dang Khoa informed that according to records from January 1, 2025 to present, after Decree 168/2024/ND-CP took effect, the traffic situation has changed significantly, people's awareness of complying with regulations has been improved.
“We regularly educate people about strictly complying with road traffic laws. Along with applying regulations to punish violators, the education work contributes to raising people’s awareness of obeying traffic laws,” said Lieutenant Colonel Le Dang Khoa.
According to information from the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police, on the first day of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP taking effect, the Traffic Police force of Nghe An Provincial Police detected and recorded 128 violations, mainly for violations such as running red lights, speeding, not wearing helmets, etc.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nam Hong - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police said: In addition to checking and handling violations, the Traffic Police force also carries out propaganda work, reminding traffic participants about new regulations in the law and decree.
Nationwide, in the first two days of 2025, more than 25,000 traffic violations were handled with new fines.
The Traffic Police Department - Ministry of Public Security has also requested local police to coordinate with competent agencies to review and repair faulty traffic lights and propose upgrading old equipment. No fines will be imposed at intersections with faulty traffic lights. People who encounter cases where they are issued with an unsatisfactory fine have the right to complain according to regulations.
