In the early morning of November 20, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police, Lam Dong Provincial Police coordinated with local forces to evacuate people in deeply flooded areas in D'ran commune (Lam Dong province).

From the evening of November 19, heavy rain lasted for many hours, combined with the regulated water flow of Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower Company continuously increasing. Therefore, the area around Da Nhim dam, Da Nhim river and D'ran commune was heavily flooded. Low-lying areas in D'ran commune were flooded 1 - 3.5m deep.

D'ran Bridge over National Highway 27 was deeply flooded, isolating villages in the commune. In the face of the emergency, local authorities have evacuated hundreds of households. Many people had to post information on social networks to pray for rescue forces.

The rescue force of Lam Dong Provincial Police was present at the scene, using boats to approach isolated areas, taking the elderly, children and women out of the danger zone. By the morning of November 20, more than 450 people had been evacuated to safety.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huu - Secretary of the D'ran Commune Party Committee - said that because the flood water rose too quickly, people could not move in time. The locality has mobilized all forces into isolated villages to support people in safe places.
According to many households living in D'ran commune, this is the heaviest flooding in the past 20 years.
