Building culture in villages and hamlets
More than 10 years ago, Ho village (Krong Nang commune) was still a difficult area, where people's lives mainly depended on agriculture and low income.
There are many ethnic minorities living there, many outdated customs and practices are still maintained, affecting the socio-economic development and life of the people.

Mr. Y Sot Nie - a prestigious person in Ho village, over 70 years old this year - was born and raised here, knowledgeable about the customs and practices of his people.
Realizing that he could not let people maintain their old lifestyle forever, he spent time going to each house to encourage young people to limit alcohol, work hard, and build a better life.
For middle-aged and elderly people, Mr. Y Sot Nie persistently advises and encourages them to teach their children and grandchildren to maintain discipline, live in harmony and happiness. He especially emphasized giving children enough education to escape poverty sustainably.

He shared: To escape poverty, first of all, family members must love each other, eliminate bad customs, and maintain cultural discipline. There are nights when I listen to neighbors argue, I come to advise them to heal and stay happy.
Ms. H'Bun Nie (Ho village) said: "In recent years, thanks to the support of village elders, prestigious people and village chief, young couples like us have learned many models of raising livestock, growing crops effectively, knowing how to do business and maintaining a cultural lifestyle".

Thanks to the exemplary and dedicated spirit of people like Mr. Y Sot Nie, the town of Ho is changing day by day. Security and order are maintained, people's lives are better.
Compared to 5 years ago, the village has many spacious houses, motorbikes, and cars, families are happy, take care of their business and give their children full education.
Maintain a sense of responsibility
According to statistics from the People's Committee of Krong Nang commune, the locality currently has 14 prestigious people working in villages and hamlets in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
In recent years, village heads, hamlets and prestigious people have made an important contribution to helping the locality effectively implement the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021-2025.

They are the "nuts" that actively change the face of rural areas and improve people's lives.
Mr. Pham Dinh Chuong - Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Krong Nang commune - affirmed:
" reputed people play a particularly important role in local socio-economic development. They are people trusted by the people, their words have weight, so the government can help them spread policies and guidelines to ethnic minorities effectively".
Mr. Chuong added that the government hopes that the prestigious team of people will continue to promote the spirit of responsibility, experience and understanding of customs and practices to accompany the locality in sustainable poverty reduction and development of ethnic minority areas in the coming time.
