On the morning of October 14, Le Thuy District Police (Quang Binh Province) said they were working with 7 people involved in the case of beating Mr. Ngo Van Lu to the point of hospitalization.
Initial information, the 7 people above are from Liem Tien village (Ngu Thuy commune), not far from the victim's house.
At the police station, the suspects admitted to beating Mr. Lu. The initial cause was determined to be that they beat Mr. Lu because he posted a poem on Facebook that made them “feel offended.”
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, according to Mr. Ngo Van Luyt, on the evening of October 10, Mr. Ngo Van Luyt (55 years old, Mr. Luyt's father) and his wife, Mrs. Ngo Thi Mai (54 years old, Mr. Luyt's mother) were having dinner. At this time, suddenly a group of about 7 strangers in 2 cars broke into Mr. Luyt's house and assaulted his father.
These people beat his father until he fell unconscious on the spot. Mrs. Mai ran out into the yard to call for help.
“At that time, those people grabbed my father’s legs and dragged him to the front porch and continued to beat him. When they saw the neighbors running over, they stopped and then left the scene in their car. Afterwards, the police force of Ngu Thuy commune arrived at my house to record the incident,” said Mr. Luyt.
According to Mr. Luyet, the reason could be that on October 9 and 10, the Farmers' Association of Ngu Thuy commune organized a volleyball tournament. Due to poor organization, the teams complained to the Organizing Committee and withdrew from the tournament.
That's why Luyet's father wrote a poem about this volleyball tournament and posted it on Facebook. Maybe that's why the above people came to his house to beat his father.
