Reasons why Dak Lak temporarily stops issuing driving licenses

Dak Lak Department of Transport said that the number of blanks is not enough to issue, renew, and reissue driving licenses according to people's needs.

On October 15, the Department of Transport of Dak Lak province informed that from today, the unit will temporarily stop handling administrative procedures related to the issuance, renewal and issuance of new driver's licenses. The unit will also temporarily stop the remaining driver's license examinations in October 2024. The driver's license examinations in October will be arranged in the following months of 2024.

The Department of Transport also temporarily stopped receiving documents related to procedures for changing motorcycle driving licenses (A1) from paper to PET.

Mr. Le Dinh Minh - Deputy Director of the Department of Transport said that the department currently only has about 6,000 driver's license blanks. This number is not enough to issue, renew, or reissue according to people's needs. Therefore, the unit reserves the right to issue new ones for cases of expired car licenses.

"Last September, the unit noticed that the demand for issuing and renewing driver's licenses among local people had increased. Therefore, the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Transport sent a document requesting the Vietnam Road Directorate to issue additional driver's license blanks, but so far there have been none," said Mr. Minh.
