Degraded structure in the middle of the lake surface
On August 20, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters' records at Cua Nam fish pond, Thanh Vinh ward, Nghe An province showed that the floating restaurant located in the middle of the lake surface has been out of operation for many years.
Many items of the project have deteriorated. The roof, railings and iron and steel components appear rusty and damaged. Inside the restaurant is almost empty, some walls are peeling.
The access road from the shore to the restaurant is also rarely used. The project is located in a fairly prominent location in the middle of the lake surface but has not been exploited for many years, making the area deserted.
Cua Nam Lake Floating Restaurant is also known as Thuy Ta Restaurant, Hoa Sen Restaurant. The project was built in 1998, belonging to the Cua Nam Lake Tourist Entertainment Area project.
According to the reporter's investigation, the restaurant has an area of about 700m2, designed in Asian architectural style. The Cua Nam Lake Tourist Entertainment Area project previously had a scale of more than 14ha, including 23 items such as aquarium, children's play area, ornamental creature park, swimming pool, sports field...
When it was still operating, the restaurant used to be a place to organize weddings, parties, eating and drinking parties and entertainment activities, attracting many people.
However, after a period of unstable operation, the project gradually stopped operating. In 2013, the project land was recovered and handed over to the State for management. Since then, the floating restaurant has fallen into a state of abandonment.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - a resident of Thanh Vinh ward - said that previously the floating restaurant area was quite bustling, but after many years of not being used, the project has clearly deteriorated.
The project has been abandoned for many years and looks very regrettable. This area has a beautiful lake surface, if it is renovated and appropriately exploited, it will create more entertainment and service spots for people" - Mr. Tuan said.
According to records, currently the Cua Nam lake area still has people coming to fish and play. However, the floating restaurant project with many degraded items located in the middle of the lake surface affects the overall landscape.
Research on planning adjustment
Regarding the Cua Nam fish pond area, the Nghe An Department of Construction is seeking opinions on local planning adjustments in the area with the symbol MN-01.
According to the proposed plan, the area of more than 10.4ha will be adjusted in the direction of water surface land combined with commerce, services and transportation.
In which, the area of water surface land is more than 8.2ha; green and traffic land is more than 2.2ha.
Cua Nam fish pond is located at the western gateway of Vinh city, with a location connecting to major traffic routes. The study of planning adjustment aims to more effectively exploit land and water surface funds, and at the same time embellish the landscape of the area.
Currently, taking opinions is only one step in the process of studying planning adjustments. The final plan will be considered and decided by competent authorities according to regulations.
After more than 12 years of being abandoned, the floating restaurant in the middle of Cua Nam lake continues to wait for a handling plan. Local people expect the planning adjustment to create a basis for the area to be renovated and exploited appropriately, avoiding the situation that the project continues to degrade.
