According to the investigation of Lao Dong reporter, Luong Tai waste-to-energy plant is invested by EU-CONCH VENTURE Bac Ninh New Energy Limited Liability Company.
This plant has an area of 8.7 hectares with an investment cost of more than 847 billion VND, a capacity to process 300 tons of waste/day and night, and a power generation capacity of 6 MWh.
The plant was put into trial operation in November 2023, put into commercial operation in April 2024, and is receiving and treating waste in Yen Phong, Gia Binh, and Luong Tai districts.
Previously, at a working session with Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, Dao Quang Khai in October 2024, the leaders of Luong Tai waste-to-energy plant raised some difficulties in the operation process.
Accordingly, the amount of waste supplied to this plant is seriously lacking (only received and treated 200 tons of waste/day, night), greatly affecting the operating line system and the factory's revenue.
In addition, the amount of ashes that have been treated to meet standards can be recycled as construction materials and filling, but have not been used and are still gathered at the factory.
At the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, Dao Quang Khai, said that according to the Provincial Planning, in the coming time, more industrial parks will be established in Luong Tai and Gia Binh districts, so the amount of waste generated will be very large, meeting the waste needs of the Luong Tai District Waste Treatment Plant.
At the same time, the Department of Construction was directed to review and have a plan to help the company consume the amount of ashes through treatment to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Construction.
