In the first quarter of 2025, Bac Ninh Industrial Parks will continue to lead the country in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) with a total capital of more than 2.2 billion USD, mainly high-tech and semiconductor projects.
On March 31 alone, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province organized the awarding of Investment Certificates to 14 domestic enterprises with a total investment capital of over VND 8,000 billion; 6 foreign enterprises with a total investment capital of 320.5 million USD; 4 enterprises increased their investment capital by a total of nearly 400 million USD.
Also on this occasion, Bac Ninh started construction of 2 Chinese high-tech factory projects in VSIP Bac Ninh II Industrial Park with a total investment of more than 600 million USD.

Bac Ninh province has 16 industrial parks, with an area of over 6,400 hectares, with an occupancy rate of nearly 60%, so there is still room for land to attract investment. This locality is continuing to deploy a number of industrial parks, including researching a high-tech industrial park and digital transformation associated with Gia Binh airport, hoping to create a breakthrough in the economic development of Bac Ninh province in the coming time.
Meanwhile, Bac Ninh's neighboring province, Bac Giang, leads the country in GRDP growth.
According to the Department of Statistics of Bac Giang province, economic growth (GRDP) in the first quarter of 2025 of the whole province of Bac Giang is estimated to reach about 14.02%, the highest in the country.
Of which, industry - construction is estimated to increase by about 17.24%, industry alone is estimated to increase by about 17.97%; agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 1.05%; services increased by 5.79%. Bac Giang's economic growth is still mainly due to industrial production, especially from foreign-invested enterprises that expand production and business scale, increase revenue.
It is known that in 2025, Bac Giang strives to achieve a growth target of 14-15%, higher than the target assigned by the Central Government (13.6%).
To complete the plan, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued documents directing the striving to complete the growth target for 2025.
To achieve the growth target, the Provincial People's Committee has assigned specific targets for each industry, field, and locality; at the same time, developed a growth scenario for each quarter, 6 months, and year.
In November 1996, the 10th session of the 9th National Assembly issued a Resolution to separate Ha Bac province to re-establish Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces. The two newly re-established provinces officially operated from January 1, 1997.
After nearly 30 years of re-establishment, Bac Ninh and Bac Giang have had a breakthrough development, becoming the industrial center of the country. In particular, many socio-economic indicators of Bac Ninh province are always in the leading group of the country.
According to the draft Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee drafted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the whole country has 52 provinces and cities subject to merger according to new criteria, including Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces.
