Dong Nai - Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve coordinates with Phu Ly Commune Police to clarify the subject who slashed and injured the forest protection staff.

On January 24, the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve said that the unit is coordinating with Phu Ly Commune Police to clarify the subject who slashed and injured a forest protection worker.

According to initial information, at about 2 am on January 24, a working group including the Mobile Forest Ranger Station of Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve, community forest protection staff of the Vietnam Wildlife Conservation Center (SVW) conducted a forest patrol and night watch at section 2, Sub-area 97, in hamlet 4, Phu Ly commune, and discovered a man moving in the forest with suspicious signs.

At this time, the task force requested this person to stop for inspection. However, when they discovered the functional forces, the subject ran away. During this process, the subject used a knife to slash and injure Mr. Tran Tuan, a community forest protection employee of the Vietnam Wildlife Conservation Center.

The task force continued to chase for about 30m and control the subject. Initial verification revealed that the man was identified as Mr. Dieu Trung (born in 1975, residing in hamlet 4, Phu Ly commune, Dong Nai province).

Through inspection, functional forces discovered that Mr. Dieu Trung was carrying 14 gold-copper metal pieces (suspected to be bullets) and 1 knife.

Through working, Mr. Dieu Trung led functional forces into the forest to take 1 gun and 1 gold-copper metal piece suspected of being bullets (located inside the gun barrel).

Mr. Tran Tuan was transferred to Dong Nai Provincial General Hospital for treatment in a state of severe blood loss.

The case is being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
