On August 7, on social media, a video clip spreading widely shows a scene of a bus driver and a bus attendant from Cooperative 19.5 fighting with a ride-hailing driver.
According to verification, the incident occurred around 9:30 am on the same day. The bus, driven by a male driver, had many passengers and a male bus attendant on board, and was traveling on Lý Thái Tổ Street, near the Lý Thái Tổ roundabout (Phường 1, District 3, HCMC), when it suddenly clashed with a ride-hailing driver who was driving ahead.
After that, the driver and the bus attendant got off the bus to talk to the ride-hailing driver. During the conversation, all three people got into a brawl.
The incident was recorded by a passenger on the bus and uploaded to social media.
At present, the District 3 authorities have taken note of the incident and are conducting verification, inviting the relevant individuals to come and work, and handling the case.
The representative of Cooperative 19.5 stated that, initially, the bus driver and the bus attendant involved in the fight have been suspended from driving and serving; then, they will work with the driver and attendant in question to handle the case in accordance with regulations.
