At around 3:00 p.m. on November 3, in Bao Loc city (Lam Dong), there was heavy rain with thunderstorms and strong winds lasting for more than 1 hour.
Heavy rain caused many roads and residential areas in Ward 1 and Ward 2 to be severely flooded.
On Le Van Tam Street, in residential group 5 (ward 2), the water was nearly 1 meter deep. The deep water caused the road to be cut off for about 30 minutes. Here, 2 cars were submerged in water and stalled.
In particular, heavy rain caused water from stream No. 1 (Ward 2) to rise and flood into houses, causing more than 20 households to be flooded 0.5 - 1 meter deep.
Many houses in this area have no family members, so their property and belongings cannot be moved and are submerged in water, at risk of damage.
Similarly, on Ky Con Street (Ward 2), heavy rain caused water to be more than 0.5 meters deep and flood into many households' houses.
Meanwhile, Phan Dang Luu Street (Ward 1) located next to Ha Giang Stream was also flooded with water up to 0.5 - 0.7 meters deep. Many vehicles were flooded and could not pass through. About 20 households on Phan Dang Luu Street had their houses flooded.
Also in Ward 1, heavy rain caused a landslide at the house of Ms. To Thi Nga (residential group 8). Here, dozens of cubic meters of rock and soil collapsed, threatening Ms. Nga's house and several other houses above.
Along with that, in alley 40 Hai Thuong Lan Ong street (residential group 5, ward 1), a durian tree fell and collapsed the wall of a resident's house.
In particular, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds caused many trees on streets such as Thu Khoa Huan (Ward 2), Ho Tung Mau (Ward 1), Le Thi Pha and in the new Bao Loc market area (Ward 1) to be broken and uprooted.
The fallen tree crushed several motorbikes, affecting traffic. Fortunately, the heavy rain caused flooding, landslides and fallen trees, and no one was injured.
Ward 1 and Ward 2 People's Committees mobilized forces such as militia, police, youth union to coordinate with Bao Loc Urban Construction Company to regulate and ensure traffic safety; at the same time, support people to move their assets to a safe place.
The forces also coordinated to clear the scene of fallen trees so that people could pass through safely.
