These days, people in Ho Chi Minh City can easily see images of Khue Van Cac, The Huc Bridge, Pen Tower, Duong Lam ancient village gate, and the hundreds of years old Long Bien Bridge right on Nguyen Hue Walking Street. These familiar images of Hanoi have been recreated in the program “Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City”. This is one of the activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.
Many activities are also taking place in Hanoi to celebrate the anniversary. Thousands of people and visitors have come to the walking street of Tran Nhan Tong Street to participate in the Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2024 with the theme "Hanoi Gifts". The products introduced at the festival are all aimed at promoting the beauty of Hanoi Autumn.
According to Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, the activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day are a widespread emulation movement from the grassroots to the city, from the political system to the people of the Capital; therefore, the preparation work must be thorough and thoughtful.
According to the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, Hanoi has carried out the renovation, embellishment and installation of welcome signs. The city has carried out the renovation, embellishment and installation of historical relics of the resistance war, especially those associated with the Liberation of the Capital; restored and installed the Hanoi Cemetery at the Truong Son Martyrs' Cemetery. At the same time, it organized the groundbreaking and inauguration of projects and the installation of welcome signs.
Up to now, many projects have been organized to have signs attached to city-level projects: Gia Lam district organized to have signs attached to the District Political Center project (located in Co Bi commune); Dong Da district organized to have signs attached to the Nguyen Truong To Secondary School project (O Cho Dua ward).
Hai Ba Trung District has two city-level projects: Vo Thi Sau Primary School at 349 Minh Khai Street will have its construction sign posted on August 15; the technical infrastructure improvement project around Thien Quang Lake will have its sign posted at the end of September 2024...
In addition to the commemorative works, Hanoi has implemented many practical and meaningful activities. The activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital are aimed at honoring and expressing gratitude for the contributions of the people and those who have contributed to the revolution; taking care of the material and spiritual life of the people of the Capital, especially those in remote areas and ethnic minority areas; discovering and promoting outstanding collectives and individuals in labor, production, study and work; fostering and raising awareness and pride in the glorious, heroic, peaceful and friendly historical tradition of Thang Long - Hanoi.
At the same time, strengthen the introduction and promotion of the image of the Capital to domestic localities and international friends.
