On the afternoon of August 12, many areas in the central ward of Lam Dong province such as Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Lam Vien - Da Lat, Lang Biang - Da Lat experienced very heavy rain.
In Xuan Huong - Da Lat ward, the water level of Phan Dinh Phung stream rose very quickly. After just over an hour of heavy rain, water overflowed onto the road surface.
In the Phan Dinh Phung stream area through Phan Dinh Phung Street, from Xo Viet Nghe Tinh to Xuan Huong Lake, the drainage could not be in time, causing severe flooding.
According to records, the flooded section extended from Xo Viet Nghe Tinh roundabout towards Xuan Huong Lake for more than 1 km. The water level is 50-80 cm depending on the height of the road.
The flooding caused people in this area to quickly clean up and close their doors.
At the beginning of Phan Dinh Phung Street, some people used trucks to park in the middle of the road to warn passersby not to run into flooded areas.
Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street nearby was also flooded with red water, causing local flooding. The rainwater here is bright red, according to the people, because it flows from the nearby sports center project area, bringing red soil onto the road.
Some other roads such as Lu Gia, Tran Quoc Toan, Thanh Mau... were also partially flooded. By 5:30 p.m. the same day, heavy rain had decreased.
